Abstract

Based on interviews with Marzia Echenique and Claudia Naranjo, this work introduces activists from the transvestite-trans collective from the Argentine province of Santa Fe, their struggle and mobilization for the recognition and guarantee of social rights. In particular, it refers to two pioneering laws at the national and global level: Law No. 13298 and Law No. 14220, which establish historical reparation for the exercise of violence and deprivation of liberty due to gender conditions during the last civic-military dictatorship (1976-1983) and post-dictatorship (1983-2010). As a result of this struggle and making visible the violation of the rights of transvestite-trans people, in 2020 the Archive of Transvestite-Trans Memory was formed in the city of Rosario, which institutionalizes the struggle and historical memory of these collective.
